Cover of a book titled "The Sublime Quran", translated by Laleh Bakhtiar. Background features a vibrant floral pattern with red, orange, and yellow flowers and green leaves.

This translation of the Quran is a universal translation, for all times, related to the Quran’s eternality and not to it as a text frozen in the time period of its revelation. To this end, there are no parenthetical phrases further interpreting and elaborating a verse, thus allowing the translation to be free of any transient political, denominational or doctrinal bias.

Book cover titled "Living to 99" by Yaffa with a dark background, decorative border, and an illustration of winding olive branches with leaves and a hanging pendant in the center.

Living to 99 is a love letter to those of us at the margins of spirituality. Spirituality has existed beyond time and space. We are meant to be connected, yet our connection is often demonized, dehumanized, and punished along the way. Through reflections on the 99 Names of Allah, we examine what it means to be human, to organize, and to strive for collective liberation.

Shadaab Rahemtulla analyzes how four Muslim intellectuals have been able to expound scripture as seventh-century Arabian text in a socially liberating way, addressing their own lived realities of oppression from racism to patriarchy. Rahemtulla underlines the importance of both the ethico-social content of the Qur'an and their usage of new and innovative reading practices.

Book cover titled "Islam and Anarcism: Relationships and Resonances" by Mohamed Abdou. The background features stylized Arabic calligraphy in blue on right side..

A popular reimagining of Islam is urgently needed to combat Orientalism. It is an unexpected political philosophical tradition that has the most to offer in this pursuit: anarchism.

Islam and Anarchism disrupts two commonly held beliefs – that Islam is necessarily authoritarian and capitalist; and that anarchism is necessarily anti-religious and anti-spiritual. Rooted in key Islamic textual sources, and drawing on radical Indigenous, Islamic anarchistic and social movement discourses, Abdou proposes ‘Anarcha-Islam’.
